On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Mr. Eraste Rurangwa; The Head of the Data Protection & Privacy Office, joined a panel discussion on Rwanda’s Data Sharing Policy and Personal Data Protection and Privacy Law, organized by Rwanda ICT Chamber & ISACA Rwanda Chapter. He emphasized the law’s alignment with global standards and role in driving digital transformation, innovation, and citizen empowerment.
He added that the Personal Data Protection and Privacy Law defines how personal data must be handled, while the National Data Sharing Policy defines how government institutions should share data responsibly.
“Let’s build a culture of data protection by understanding the law, training staff, and conducting regular audits. Rwanda is committed to fostering a trusted digital future.” Added Rurangwa.
