From the last three weeks, the Data Protection and Privacy Office (DPO) has been equipping Data Protection Officers from different organizations with essential skills to strengthen data governance. The sessions have covered cybersecurity incident response and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), giving participants practical tools to anticipate risks and protect both organizational systems and individual rights.
The training also focused on the eight lawful bases for processing personal data; consent, performance of a contract, legal obligation, vital interests, public interest, duties of a public entity, legitimate interest, and research upon authorization. Through real-life examples, participants gained clear insights into how these principles apply in everyday situations, ensuring compliance while fostering responsible data handling.
