DPO participated in a national training on AI, Data protection & the Rule of Law for Judicial Operators
From 14 to 15 April, Data Protection and Privacy Office (DPO) Rwanda joined a national training on Artificial Intelligence (AI), data protection, and the rule of law for legal professionals in Kigali, organized by the Ministry of Justice and UNESCO and GIZ Rwanda. The event gathered 35 legal professionals to discuss AI's role in shaping Rwanda’s justice system.
The training aimed to equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to understand AI and data protection benefits. It was based on UNESCO’s Global Toolkit on AI and the Rule of Law.
“Data protection is not just about compliance, but it is about trust and reputation. For the justice sector, safeguarding personal data is essential to uphold justice, dignity and human rights.” Said Mr. Eraste Rurangwa, Head of DPO Rwanda.
